From the Principal

The first semester has flown by.  We are all looking forward to the new school which is scheduled to open by next August.
Last year was a good year for Zavala and I expect this year to be even better.  I am extremely honored to be your principal. Everyone's exceptional work last year and the historical gains we made on the state accountability assessment make me very proud to be part of Zavala. The initiatives we have set in place will ensure success for students in our school.
We also are well on our way to transforming our students educational experience through our Plan for Excellence (CCIP). This plan truly embraces the whole child.  Parents, family and community members are vital partners in the educational process-we cannot be successful with students unless educators, parents and community members are working side by side. This year, parents can also expect to see and hear about our "Parent Compact," an agreement we have asked educators and parents to sign during the first six weeks signifying their commitment as partners working together to help each student be successful.
Let us continue to strive for EXCELLENCE in every area and remember our Aviator PRIDE.
     Teamwork Works!
